3ds Max could not open and connect in 5 minutes!

  • Make sure that 3dsmax.exe is added as an exception to the firewall rules. Go to Control Panel > Windows Defender Firewall and click on the Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall on the left side. Check if 3ds Max is in the list of allowed apps.
  • Make sure that you don’t have any conflicting In or Outbound firewall rules that might overwrite and end up blocking 3dsMax.
  • Check the workstation or render node if it has any popup errors that might block 3ds Max to start properly.
  • If you are running Windows 7 then please upgrade to 10. Version 7 is no longer supported and Render Manager won’t work.
