We are excited to share the biggest and most important update for Scene Manager! The core of the product has undergone a complete replacement, improving scene organization for 3ds Max users. This change has eliminated some bottlenecks, resulting in faster command execution and an improved overall experience.

Alongside the new core, we've added several new features and improvements for better scene organization. Here's an overview of all the new things in Scene Manager 2.5.

New Modules

Assets Module

  • Track and review all assets in your scene.

  • Sort assets by category or size.

  • Filter to view only missing assets.

  • Collect assets into a folder or compile them into a zip file for transparent organization in complex projects.

Plugins Module

  • See a straightforward list of all plugins used in your scene.

  • View version information where available.

  • Simplify scene organization and troubleshooting in 3ds Max.

Authentication

Login with Browser

We have introduced a new "Login with Browser" method for a more convenient sign-in experience. Initially implemented in Project Dream, it is now available in Scene Manager as well.

User Interface Improvements

We tidied up and improved parts of the user interface and made better use of the top section. Commands like Render, Bake, and Preview are now placed at the top, leaving the setup list with only the relevant commands to streamline scene organization.

Notifications

We added a new notification option in the settings. When enabled, a message box appears during file loading if the scene contains Scene Manager settings. This is useful for teams or when sharing scenes with colleagues and partners. It currently works only if Scene Manager is installed and is turned off by default. More options are planned for the future.

New Toolbar Icon

Say goodbye to the old "Pulze - SM" text button; we now have a new logo for the 3ds Max toolbar.

Workflow Enhancements

Preview Mode

Previously, you could activate Preview mode by Alt-clicking a setup from the list. Due to popular demand, we added a dedicated toggle button. When active, you can make changes to selected setups without affecting your 3ds Max scene.

Camera Sync

Next to Preview mode, you'll find the revamped camera sync mode (formerly known as record setup). When enabled, Scene Manager detects viewport changes and activates the setup based on the current camera.

Cloud Rendering

Submitting your scenes to our cloud rendering partner, Helio, is now a one-click solution. With our sanity check and asset collector feature, gathering assets is much faster and more reliable.

Additional Quality-of-Life Improvements

  • A confirmation dialog now appears when deleting a setup to prevent accidental loss.

"Create output directory tree" now works with multiple selected setups, creating the full folder structure for each.

  • Pressing Cancel during batch rendering now cancels the entire process (no need to cancel in the 3ds Max render dialog separately).

  • Duplicating a scene places the copy directly below the selected scene, not at the bottom of the list.

  • Proper date and time controls have been added for the Daylight system (replacing the less intuitive numeric input).

Contact and Support

We hope you appreciate the new features and find the improvements beneficial. If you have any questions, requests, or issues, please contact us at info@pulze.io or create a post on our forum.
